UNION OF NIGERIANS MADISON AREA UNIMA

Welcome Message From The President

If you are reading this message, you have my appreciation for visiting the UNIMA website. This site is an additional step in our continuing effort to provide good communication to our members, keeping them abreast of events and activities that cater for their diverse interests.

UNIMA is an association registered in 1994 with the State of Wisconsin for all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria who reside in Madison and surrounding Wisconsin cities. The aims of the association are to foster unity, progress, brotherhood and citizenship among people of common heritage and their friends within the larger community. In this spirit, UNIMA organizes various events and activities for the children to stimulate their educational development and to provide them with a sense of cultural and family value.

For the adult members, UNIMA strives to provide forums for social interaction, philanthropy, and a sense of community belonging. In addition, the association strives to provide help for new arrivals in the area to make their transition a little easier through linkages to sources of employment, grocery stores for familiar African foods, community help centers and other government offices.

Please take time to navigate this website and experience the resources that it provides. It is a site designed with you in mind. Contact us with questions or if you require further information.

I warmly welcome you.

Ben Iwuagwu
